As in the day when the YMCA was founded, we want to provide Christian nurture for young people in the tumultuous and rapidly changing atmosphere of society, but also see them transformed by the Gospel and launch out in many directions of social and cultural service.

Our vision

To see our broken world blessed where UCT graduates live lives of faith in action.

Our mission

Transforming UCT students to transform the world by calling them to serve Jesus Christ with their whole lives.

Our values

The gospel of Jesus Christ is about reconciliation with God and the restoration of humanity in Him. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we embark on a journey toward wholeness that will find its end in the new heavens and new earth. This is a powerful reversal of the disconnected and alienated lives that we lead. Our values express the desire to model an integrated, whole-life gospel community.

We are shaped by the following core values:

  • Relationship
We are team-oriented and other-centred, and we seek out ministry partnerships with others.
  • Humility
We acknowledge the essential posture of humility for repentance, learning, and growth.
  • Honesty
We express openness to those who differ from us, we share our lives, and welcome questions.
  • Wholeness
We celebrate life, we live a gospel that makes the entire person whole, and we work for justice
  • Reconciliation
We engage in ministry of reconciliation; we prize diversity and practise the equality of all people.
